Our Appeal….

Help us build an Autism Queensland for the future

Each year Autism Queensland delivers provides specialised services to thousands of people on the autism spectrum, their families and others who support them.

And each year the number of people seeking to access our services grows.

We are striving to meet this increasing demand by expanding our workforce of specialist allied health professionals and educators, the frequency and range of our individual and group programs, and our schools.

But it’s not enough. It’s time for us to redevelop and build on the facilities from which we deliver these vital services.

We’ve been working hard to raise the funds for this growth, but we can’t do it alone. We need your donation to our ‘bricks and mortar campaign’. Buy one brick or 10, or a bucket or mortar – all funds donated will help us build an Autism Queensland for the future.

Your donation today will help Autism Queensland grow for the future.

FROM THE CEO

For over 50 years Autism Queensland has delivered evidence-informed services for Queenslanders on the autism spectrum.

In the early years the fledgling organisation operated from a range of premises before obtaining funding to establish its first School in 1977 at Sunnybank Hills. In the years that followed more centres were established to create the modern-day footprint which includes Brighton on Brisbane’s northside, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay and Cairns. Services to other rural and remote areas are supported by the teams based in Brisbane.

The next few years will bring rapid growth and expansion for Autism Queensland. We have developed 10-year masterplans for Sunnybank Hills and Brighton and will do the same for our regional centres.

Works have already commenced on a major refurbishment of the School at Sunnybank Hills to create a modern, safe and appropriate learning environment for our growing student cohort.

Our other centres also require expansion and refurbishment. At Brighton, we need a larger site, and in the regions we need to expand either to new premises or with renovations to our existing facilities.

Autism Queensland has a vision for a life of participation, opportunity and choice. Your donation today will help us to build the ‘bricks and mortar’ needed to support people on the autism spectrum, today and well into the future.

Thank you for your support!
